My Semester Abroad
I spent the spring of my Junior year abroad in Vienna Austria.
It was a great opportunity to get a lot of experience speaking German
and eat amazing food. During my semester I visited many cities in Austria,
Budapest, Berlin, Hamburg, Luebeck, and Venice.
This is a picture of my housemates Fran, Cameron, and Sunny, and I in front
of a building on the Schoenbrunn estate. There are many beautiful palaces around Vienna to explore.
This is Stephansdom, or St. Stevens, a major landmark of Vienna.
It was bombed during World War II, but only the roof was badly damaged
This is the Reichstag, the capitol building in Berlin, Germany. Our professor took us to
Berlin to see the Berlinale International Film Festival. We also got personalized
tours of the city becuase our professor lived there for a year while completing her PhD.
The highlight of my trip was getting to spend a week with my best friend, Merle,
who lives in Tensfeld, Germany. She showed me all around northern Germany,
and I got to see the Baltic Sea. This picture is in Stocksee,
a lake popular with tourists, near her home.
